I think most of the comments on blogs, even from .edu have the "nofollow" code on them so I doubt replying on blogs can be much help on ranking. However I do suggest finding ways to work with a local school so perhaps you can get on their website somehow.

I know a soccer store that gets a link from a university because they sponsored them and provided their team uniforms. I think that kind of backlink actually hold more value than putting links on school blogs.</description>

When i try your technique i found out that there are lots of spam comment that have nothing to do with the blog. Sometimes up to 80 spam comments per article per blog! So what do you think about this? will it harm my SERP to post in that blog?</description>
